Matteo Barzini is an Italian filmmaker and producer born in Rome in 1981 and raised in Los Angeles, California. He’s the grandson of writer and journalist Luigi Barzini, Jr..

His first feature documentary ''United We Stand - A Journey Across America During The Days Of The War In Iraq'' was selected for the 60th Venice International Film Festival making him one of the youngest filmmakers to attend the festival. In 2004 he was one of seven contestants on the reality show ''Quinto Potere'' which aired on Fox Life (Italy). Quinto Potere was the first talent show for filmmakers and journalists. Two years later he received the Best Editing Award at Roma DocFest 2006 for the documentary ''Hip Hop Diaries'', produced by Sky Italia. In 2008 he produced and directed his second feature documentary ''Change - Obama McCain, the 40 Days That Changed America''. On February 24, 2012 the Italy–USA Foundation and Cinecittà Luce organized the event ''“From Bush to Obama, ten years of America, stories and images from the documentaries United We Stand and Change by Matteo Barzini”'', inside the Chamber of Deputies (Italy). The same year he directed the short film ''Vodafone Angel'' featuring actress Nathalie Rapti Gomez. The short was produced by Vodafone to raise awareness on domestic violence.

In 2014 he created the video installation about the Syrian Civil War: ''Syria PT I & II'', sponsored by UNESCO. The soundtrack was scored by Academy Award winner, composer Ennio Morricone.
